The agent
Teramot Agent is the assistant built into Teramot. Open it with the Agent tab in the header; Advanced takes you back to the rest of the app.
Where: Agent, in the switch at the top center of the header, next to Advanced. The switch shows once a workspace is selected.
The agent uses the language you chose in Settings → Language for its welcome message and its interface (a few labels inside the agent are only in English), and it answers in the language you write in. A language picked inside the agent lasts until it reloads.
It can do what a connected AI assistant can: explore your tables, query them, build and edit results tables and dashboards, refresh data, and keep project knowledge. Each action needs the same role it needs in the app. Before it deletes or overwrites anything, it stops and asks you to approve. A source the agent publishes counts toward your plan’s table limit, the same as one published from Sources.
Connect the agent
Where: Agent → Open the agent, the first time you use it in a browser.
Open the agent opens a small window where you sign in with your Teramot account; once it closes, the agent loads in the page. The browser remembers it for about a month. If your browser blocks the window, Your browser blocked the sign-in window. shows with a link to Open in a new tab.
The buttons at the top right of the page:
- Reconnect the agent — sign in again, for example after signing in with another account.
- Reload the agent — reload it without leaving the page.
- Open in a new tab — use the agent on its own page.
The first time the agent uses your data, it may ask you to sign in to Teramot once more, to allow it to act on your behalf.
AI context
Where: AI context is the bar right under the header, followed by the workspace and project names you can switch.
The AI context selector sets which workspace and project the agent works on. When you change it, Now working in … confirms the new one, and the conversations you continue from then on use it. The agent also reads the project’s and workspace’s knowledge in every conversation.
Conversations and models
Where: inside the agent, the conversation list on the left and the model menu at the top of the conversation.
Past conversations are listed on the left; start a new one from the top of that list. The model menu offers Teramot Lite (the default: fast and economical, for everyday questions) and Teramot Power (more capable, for harder questions). If your account has it, the menu also offers Teramot with Claude Sonnet (your key) and Teramot with Claude Opus (your key), which run on Claude with your own Anthropic API key: the agent asks for the key the first time you pick one, and answers on them spend no Teramot credits.
The agent answers questions about your data and about using Teramot. For anything else it replies briefly and steers back.
Skills and files
Where: inside the agent.
A skill is a set of instructions of your own that the agent follows when it fits the question:
how you like a report laid out, the checks you always run. Write one, import one as a .md, .zip
or .skill file (the formats Claude exports), or ask the agent to turn what you just did into a
skill. Only you see your skills. The agent picks one by its description; type $ and the skill’s
name to use it on purpose. Skills add instructions and cannot run scripts. A rule every
conversation in a project must follow belongs in the project’s knowledge
instead, where everyone in the project gets it.
You can attach a file to a message for the agent to read in that conversation; it is not kept as knowledge. Your organization may have file attachments turned off, and then the attach button does not show.
Credits
Where: the right end of the AI context bar, on wider screens.
The agent spends your workspace’s monthly AI credits. A ring shows how many are used and left this month; hover it for the figures. When the workspace runs out, This workspace has used all of its agent credits. shows with Go to Billing, where a billing admin can buy more. While the last answer ran on your own Anthropic key, Your Anthropic key shows beside the ring: that answer used no credits.
Once the workspace’s free trial has ended, Your free trial has ended, so the agent cannot answer. shows instead, and the agent replies to every message that the trial has ended, with a link to Billing.
