Connect an AI assistant
Teramot works as a connector for AI assistants: once connected, your assistant can explore your tables, run queries, and build results tables and dashboards on your behalf, with your own permissions.
Everything you need is on the Connect AI page of the Teramot app. Open it from Administration → Connect AI in the sidebar, or from Settings → Connect AI → Open Connect AI.
Where: Administration → Connect AI in the sidebar. Each assistant is a card at the top of the page: click it to open its steps. Advanced configuration is the last panel of the page; click it to show the server URL and the Client ID. Settings is in the menu under your avatar (your initials) at the top right of the header.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Server URL | https://mcp.teramot.com/mcp |
| Client ID | Shown on the Connect AI page, under Advanced configuration. Most clients never ask for it. |
The connection belongs to your account, not to a workspace: the same connection reaches every workspace and project you are a member of. What the assistant can do in each one is limited by your role there — see Permissions.
There are two ways to sign in:
- Quick connect (OAuth) — Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Gemini and Microsoft 365 Copilot. You sign in with your Teramot account in a browser window; no key to manage.
- Access key — Cursor, v0, Antigravity and any other client that only accepts a static header. See Authentication.
The steps below are the same ones the Connect AI page shows. Where they
show <client-id>, use the Client ID from that page. The Claude Desktop steps also work
on claude.ai.
Open Claude Desktop on your computer.
Click the settings icon and go to Settings → Connectors.
Click “Add custom connector”.
On Team or Enterprise, only an owner can add it, from Organization settings → Connectors: “Add” → “Custom” → “Web”. Everyone else joins at step 5.
Name it “Teramot”, paste the server URL and finish with “Add”.
Field Value Server URL https://mcp.teramot.com/mcpLeave the authentication options as Claude detects them — the server publishes its own OAuth details. Only if your version asks for OAuth credentials (under “Advanced settings”, or “Use your own OAuth client”), paste the Client ID below and leave the Client Secret blank.
Field Value Client ID (only if it asks for one) <client-id>Click “Connect” on the Teramot connector and sign in with your Teramot account in the browser that opens.
Go back to Claude Desktop and ask it about your Teramot data.
Check that it works
Ask your assistant “list my Teramot workspaces”. It should answer with the workspaces you see in the app. If it asks which workspace or project to use, tell it — see Choosing or switching the workspace and project.
If sign-in fails, see Troubleshooting.
